KILNING

The drying of the wood is indispensable for different reasons:

The wood needs to be dried because during its process, its moisture contents needs to correspond with its balance moisture of the situation in which it will be used in order to avoid any deformation of the wood.

Wood that has a higher moisture content than 20 %, is sensible to funguses (gets rotten).

The handling of dried wood is easier and more neatly.

In many cases, the finishing demands a low moisture content: sticking - varnishing - painting, ...

Dried wood weighs less and has got a bigger resistance.

A good preparation is necessary if you want your drying functioning "very well".
Some factors who will lead to a perfect drying:

sufficient ventilation in the oven

the bars are to put at equal distance from one another in order to avoid head bursts

the bars need to be thick enough

the pallets in the oven have to be placed well, so to enable a good air circulation.

These are some elements who will enhance the drying and they are extremely cautious controlled by us when your wood is kilned.
