ENVIRONMENT
Wood, a natural product
For ages now, people have been using wood, a natural product. Over the years,
this natural material has convinced many amongst us of its qualities. Furthermore,
it looks like wood is still the material of the future, certainly as far as ecology
is concerned. It is requesting low production costs and no waste for sure.
The growing environmental consciousness has evocated over the last couple of
years a more careful approach towards nature. The most efficient approach is
a high skilled wood management. Where wood is being cut, new trees are systematically
being replanted. In that way, the ecological balance and the quality of the wood
for our future is guaranteed.
Wood is also one of the few 100% recyclable materials. Timber can have various uses in its life an in the end it will be used for its energy.
The forest has various important functions in our environment:
Social function: Leisure
Ecological function: Production of oxygen an protection of the ozone layer.
Production of materials: Wood & Timber business.
A “ 200” function as it is the home of animals and insects.
A climatic function as it regulates the water/air.
A hydraulic function as it regulates our underground water levels.
